Better a late posting than never huh? :) Been swamped by work lately - out of office n late nights. Now, PC lak buat hal!

My division Raya gathering was on the same day (3-6pm) so it was quite a tiring/eventful day! As I was in the organising committee of the division Raya gathering (LCAD Open Hse), I was at Mandarin Oriental by 10am. Was already full with the good food at MO that I didnt eat anything at Za8FC Gathering. Masa dah nak habis (11pm) baru makan buah and one or two kuih.

I wore orange at the LCAD Open Hse but after a long day, I needed to change. So I was non-orange at Jom Raya, but luckily some were non-orange as well. Phew! :)

Very small hall, so pretty small audience n that was really good. Takdelah berebut2 sgt nak bergambar ngan Zahid. He wore orange, of course - the baju raya yg Za8FC members tempah especially for him.

Nana was our guest MC and wore a real pretty orange top. Rambut dia dah panjang and she straightened it. I thought she looked really nice.

Bob n Farah were present too. They sang a duet - 'Seloka Hari Raya', if I'm not mistaken. Only Umi were present among the AF teachers. She brought along her two daughters.

Was hoping to see Abg Indra, Za8's bro in law, but he was not present. I also missed his younger sister. She left early as she had a show/singing gig. It was nice to see his parents and his uncle from Teluk Intan. His uncle actually waved to me from far. I was so touched he remembered me. When I went to his table for a chat he asked what my full name was and he said.. Saya panggil 'Iz' lah ye? Haha.. That's what Zahid calls me so that's pretty cool. I think his uncle is so sporting. He happened to be there because he had a course to attend and was driving back to Teluk Intan after the gathering. Urgent matters - SPM BM papers to mark! :)

Also chatted with Shikin, Za8's 2nd oldest sister. This was during the Za8FC 'Fun Factor' so I can't say much about that event! But suffice to say, from the bottom of my heart, I salute those who participated. I would never be able to eat sebiji telur mentah and drink half a cup of kicap!! Eeek!! And to plonk my face in a plate of flour to retrieve sweets with just my mouth? Habis le baju aku nanti! :)

For those who weren't present, the 'Fun Factor' was a race against time to complete the following tasks:

• Drink a 500ml mineral water bottle,
  
• Masukkan benang through a needle,
  
• Retrieve sweets with your mouth from a paper plate covered with flour,
  
• Eat a raw egg in a glass,
  
• Drink half a paper cup full of soy sauce n lastly,
  
• Tiup balloon until it burst!
  

Zahid n Bob participated but sadly, only one pic from my camera as I was talking with Kak Shikin during the event. Congrats to Jismin for winning the Fun Factor! :)

There was also a ketupat weaving competition which Nana n Cikgu Fauziah Nawi's daughters took part. Table Zahid tak join sbb tak reti :)

Btw, isn't anak buah favourite Za8 (Adam) soo cute? I took a pic of him and he immediately wanted to take a look. He knew how to browse through the pictures too. He was busy pushing buttons to see other pics and when he saw the picture of his baby brother he said "Adik!" :) Adam's baby bro, Akil was such a good baby. Putih melepak anak2 kak Shikin. Za8's eldest sis (Kak Nor) was working on that day I think, so tak dpt tgk her baby girl.

Towards the end, Za8FC presented Za8 with a giant Raya card. Mmg cantik. And yang bestnya, the card was so packed with words sampai tak cukup tempat nak tulis. My short message was signed as 'Iz MMA'. When he was reading the card onstage he looked at me (I was sitting 2 tables behind) and mouthed out 'Iz MMA??' to which I just nodded back :)

He sang for us 'Satu Hari Di Hari Raya'. Also sang 'Cek Mek Molek' after a change of his sampin position. Lebih comfortable to gelek, I guess! :) (Dari dipinggang, diselempang across his bahu) He later changed to a very colour co-ordinated outfit (matching blue-yellow shoes, cap and shirt) to sing 'Milikku'.

LCAD stands for PETRONAS' Legal & Corporate Affairs Division. Our Raya Open House cum teambuilding/networking programme was emceed by Linda Onn who did a good job.

One of the AF dancers, Lan was also present, as he is with PETRONAS Performing Arts Group - part of LCAD. Tapi tak amik gambar dia pulak.

Yaay!!! Marat prevailed :)

Marat Safin completes the line-up of the Masters Cup semis in defeating Henman 6-2, 7-6(2). He joins Hewitt (who earlier beat Gaudio 6-2 6-1), Roddick and Federer.

Btw, apa punya linesmen did they have just now?!! So many wrong calls... two back-to-back dodgy calls against Marat. Nasib dia menang, kalau tak, ada yg hot! Teringat masa Henin defeated Clijsters (was it the french open finals or semis?). That ball was sooo out! Dah le aku mmg tak suka Henin, bertambah le tak suka, hehe.. and I dont even like Clijsters!

Anyway... It's the first time the top four seeds have reached the last four of this elite year-end event. The last time was in 1990 at the ATP World Championships in Frankfurt. Stefan Edberg, Boris Becker, Ivan Lendl and a long-haired Andre Agassi (sigh) were the illustrious quartet and it was the 20-year-old from Las Vegas who won it over Edberg in the final. (double sigh! :))

Meanwhile, Andy Roddick fired his 1000th ace of the season during his 7-6(4), 6-3 win over Guillermo Coria. Impressive stats indeed! If Goran was actively playing, I'm sure he'd have given Roddick a good challenge. Speaking of big servers, where is The Scud?? He has broken up with Delta Goodrem hasn't he? So he should be back soon. Maybe I shall ask my Aussie friend, Gerry if he's seen Mark around this festive holidays. They're both from Williamstown, Melbourne and goes to the same gym. Gerry also sees Eric Bana (who I absolutely adore!!) around Melbourne town sometimes! Aarghhhh!!!

Anyway... Can't wait for the Roddick-Hewitt match. Stay up lagi nampaknya! 2.30am start. Hmmph... Commentators are predicting Hewitt will win. I didn't see Hewitt play Gaudio, so I shall stick to my hunch that Roddick will win. He seems much calmer and he's thinking more clearly now. But sesapa menang pun i dont care, just wanna see a good match.

As for the FedEx-Safin match, no one's expecting Safin to win so I hope he'll go for broke n let loose. You never know, Federer is not at his best due to injury/lack of play. I suspect it'll be a Federer-Roddick final, but heck, I'm open to suprises! ;) (safin, safin, safin... )

Day 4 of the rain-plagued ATP Masters Cup
Houston, TX

The day was an exercise in patience for me – what more the players and paying audience! Play started after EIGHT hours of waiting due to rainstorms.

First match: Moya vs Gaudio. The man from Espana defeated Gaudio 6-3 6-4 in one hour and 23 minutes. Yaaay!! Vamos Moya and next up is the most anticipated match of the day - Federer vs Hewitt!


Gaudio reacts with disgust and frustration, resulting in one smashed racket.

Federer was up a set and a break at 6-3 4-2 with Hewitt to serve and if rains AGAIN!! Aarghhhhh!!!!! It was 11.38pm at Houston so I thought that was it - play suspended till the next day.

When I got back home from work, immediately switched on Ch82. Managed to see the replay. Was ready to switch channels at 6-3, 4-2 but to my suprise they continued playing!! :)

An hour's delay apparently. Can’t believe they waited till 12.38am! As I hoped, Federer didn’t lose his cool and managed to close the match defeating Hewitt 6-3 6-4 shortly before 1 a.m. Hence, he’s in the semifinals. :)

Moya vs Federer - Don’t see Moya winning this. Don’t think FedEx will be feeling charitable.
Hewitt vs Gaudio - Surely Hewitt can win this!

Wouldn’t mind the highly improbable, ie Moya getting through instead of Hewitt, hehe..

Looks like KL is not the only place raining like cats and dogs! Penat aje bangun at 3am to catch the match LIVE, only to be subjected to rain delays :(

Expecting Hewitt & Federer to qualify from the Red Group and Safin & Roddick to qualify from the Blue Group. Go go Safin!

Congratulations to Roger Federer who was presented with the INDESIT ATP 2004 Race trophy yesterday. He became the first player since Mats Wilander in 1988 to earn three Grand Slam titles in a season. He wrapped up the No. 1 position in the INDESIT ATP 2004 Race after the US Open, earlier than any other player in the history of the INDESIT ATP Entry Ranking (since 1973).

Seriously man, what a feat!! 3 Slams in a year is impressive. Hope your injury will not hamper u much this Masters Cup. I'd love to see you win it to cap off a wonderful year. Unless Safin wins it of course! ;)

Hi semua. Masih beraya sakan or dah start puasa 6? :) I'm back at work already. To those still holidaying, berhati2 di jalan raya and makan biar berpada-pada yeah! ;)

Just want to share with you guys some pics with the AF stars on Hari Raya ke-3.

This is my first time beraya dirumah bintang AF. Very interesting! Mula2 nak pergi rumah Sahri saja, but the rest of them semangat nak pergi beraya ke JB. Too bad tak dapat visit rumah Edlin, Nana & Nija.

Actually Sahri wanted to bring us beraya at Edlin's kampung (Alor Gajah) but we couldn't reach Melaka in time. Edlin & family takde rumah after 12noon sbb beraya dirumah bapa saudara di Lubuk Cina. So Sahri, have fun beraya dikampung Edlin today :)

We didn't go to Nana's house cos at 2pm that day dia dah bertolak balik ke KL sbb bekerja on Wednesday. Plus Nana already had her open hse on 2nd day Raya at Muar (which Suria attended). We wanted to go to Nija's house but mungkin dia masih beraya at S'pore plus we were already running late!! Sampai rumah dah 2am and esok kena kerja :(

To Sahri, thanks so much for coming with us. Please tell your mom thanks for the good food. Next time kita plan betul2 ye, supaya boleh beraya di Zon Utara sekali (rumah Liza di Tepeng). Zon KL & Tg Karang (rumah Adi) nanti kita tunggu awak balik KL Jumaat ni ye :)

To Brown, Awek & Suria, it was nice spending time again with the old AF1 gang. Thanks all! :)

PETALING JAYA: Akademi Fantasia heart-throb Vince Chong has emerged among the top winners of an international talent show in Shanghai.

He was placed third among 21 contenders in the Asia Music Festival, coming close to repeating the successes of Siti Nurhaliza (who was champion in 1999) and Liza Hanim (runner-up in 2000).

The 25-year old rising star belted out his hit song Mengapa Harus Cinta from his debut album and Keranamu Kekasih from the soundtrack of the epic blockbuster, Puteri Gunung Ledang, at the two-day competition.

The winner of the inaugural Akademi Fantasia season said he had gone to Shanghai to just enjoy the experience and was not thinking about winning. "Nevertheless I gave my best," he told The Star from Shanghai, adding: "I was happy (with my performance) as this is an international level (competition).
"Everyone was good, and the marks were pretty close."

He was pleasantly surprised that he was one of the top winners. The festival gathered top talents from all over Asia, including Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China and Georgia. A Chinese singer won the contest.
Vince was not the only Malaysian representative. Female vocalist Ezlynn also participated.

"Meeting people was a big bonus," said Vince. "They are interested in my album and perhaps even a collaboration." This isn't the first time that Vince has competed in Shanghai in an international contest. After placing second in the "Astro Talent Search 2002", he went on to participate at the International Chinese Singing Competition, later that year.

With this victory, Safin, has now matched German Boris Becker as the only other player to claim 3 trophies here. Becker had captured the titles in 1986, 1989 and 1992 (every 2 years) while Marat won in 2000, 2002 and 2004 (every 2 years).

Marat also becomes the first player to claim back-to-back indoor Masters Series crowns after winning in Madrid two weeks ago :)

Safin is not doing too bad himself, already tying Andre winning Paris Masters twice. He's currently attempting to become the first player since Boris Becker to capture the BNP Paribas Masters three times. Go go Safin!!!

Oh the joy in seeing Safin beat Hewitt, hehe. Likewise, watching Mirnyi beat Roddick. Muaahahahaha... Mirnyi kicked ass that day. Respect. He sure has stepped up.

Finals is set: Safin vs Stepanek. Ahh... Mirnyi got beaten by Stepanek. Am not really suprised. Stepanek is one focused dude, while Max is more relaxed. On paper, Safin should win but knowing Safin, anything could happen!! When u think Marat, you think :

To his credit, he does seem much calmer. So far, there's been less smashed rackets. When he makes mistakes, he doesn't berate himself so often - he just gets on with it. I just can't believe it! He's also managed to stay cool when facing breakpoints. He's been going to the net more often too!! :)

I am sooo proud of you Marat! You did good this year. After a series of injuries, he started the year ranked 86. Amazingly, he was the runner up to Federer in Oz Open! Unbelievable! Then, predictably unpredictable, he suffered 6 1st round losses. After a short vacation he won Beijing & Madrid. A small hiccup at St Petersburg, and now the finals of Paris, and he's already qualified for Masters CUp Houston. Pretty good year I'd say. Started off ranked 86, and now he's ranked 4th. Woohoo!!!

All the best in finals Safin! I hope you win!!!

It's really sad though that Agassi is 8th in the points race but has not qualified :( Gaudio is in on the basis of winning Roland Garros even though he's now ranked 10th. Oh well, doesnt matter really as Andre's now sidelined with hip injury. A very commendable year for Andre considering the small number of tournaments he played. The unretiring veteran rocks! :)

Brief summary:
Taylor Dent is out on a public tennis court with a little kid across the net. Cute kid, giggly with a bright smile and long blond hair.

Dent serves underhand to the kid and he returns strongly! Suddenly Dent isn't just having a light hit with the kid, he's serving full force and ripping shots, and the kid is smacking them back with interest, running around the court with a big smile and constantly sticking his tongue out at all of the good shots he's hitting.

Finally, Dent slams an overhead to win the point. He raises his arms and lets out a primal scream, as if he's just won a grand slam :)

Then, a mini van pulls up to the public tennis court, just outside the fence. The driver honks the horn. Andre Agassi rolls down the driver side window and yells to his son: "Hey buddy. You ready?" Steffi is in the passenger seat with a little smile.

The kid, holding his racket, dengan terkedek-kedeknya runs over to the minivan yelling: "Coming!!!!" He hops on the backseat, next to his baby sister, who is tucked in a baby seat doing a little dance with her feet.

The commerical ends with a nice little slogan: "The right genes make all the difference." (The commercial was by Genworth Financial commercial, a new spin-off company of GE.)

Cute eh? :) The boy is not Agassi's son btw. Agassi's son Jaden is only 4.

Skipped the press conference at 5pm as Haks (who brought me along as his guest) had lots to do at Astro. Due to the rain and jam, we made it just in time for buka.

I thought it would be a private session with the press alone, but there were other people at the buffet hall as well. Besorrnya dewan tu, hehe. It was actually the first time I masuk Dewan Perdana. This year, byk invites kahwin kat dewan2 (incl. Perdana) yg I tolak sbb tak berani try baju2 kebaya sbb tahu dah ketat, hehehe. Ignorance and denial can be bliss sometimes ;)

Me and Haks duduk kat table ceruk2 dunia sbb dah lambat, hehe. Masa nak survey2 makanan, Haks spotted Zahid and went over to say hi. I was walking behind him at a slower rate and sebab tiba2 diserang penyakit malu, buat2 tak nampak, tak lalu pun tepi meja Zahid, hehe. Tactic yang I tahu for sure Zahid can see right through it, haha. Just an act! Dlm hati, kalau boleh nak duduk semeja lah kan, hehe. He knew I would be there anyway cos I told him before I left Rio de Futsal during his vid clip shoot.

Zahid wore the same baju Melayu & sampin as ASTRO’s Buka Puasa at Mandarin Oriental Hotel recently. Kesian budak2 AF2 ni. Tiap2 hari dpt undangan buka puasa sampai tak cukup baju Melayu. Adam pun pakai baju Melayu yg rasanya dia dah pakai masa Majlis Buka Puasa AdamFC baru2 ni. Baju Linda was sooo cantik!! Putih berkilat2 kebaya dia. Farah simple and sweet in kurung. Zahid as usual sempoi habis. Pakai selipar je, hehe.. Alahai Zahid :)

After Zahid habis makan dia byk kena layan request wartawan for photos and interviews. Just my luck, Zahid & En Baha and a photographer yg nak amik gambar Zahid was walking towards my area. Mmg sunyi sikit my area tu. Kat tengah2 dewan tu org semua dok sibuk amik gambar/interview Linda, Adam & Farah.

Me and Haks gestured to Zahid & Baha so they approached our table and Zahid pun letakle segala barang2 dia kat meja I before posing for the photographer. Lepas dah habis baru dia duduk next to me and dpt borak2 sikit.

Excerpts…

Me: “Pakai baju hitam ye” (I kan tak minat sgt dia pakai hitam.. Nampak tak ceria sgt sbb dah dia pun agak gelap, hehe)

Zahid: “Kenapa? Nampak kurus kan?” (Eeee.. perasan! Hehe.)

Me: “Takler.. nampak gelap aaaa”

Zahid: “Mmg Zahid gelap what”

Me: “Exactly lah.... so pakai hitam laaaagiiii le nampak gelap!” (kijam tul aku ni..) Pastu I tunjuk kat En Baha who was seated opposite us and said “Pakai le camtu, baju Johor”

En Baha : “Saya pakai mcm ni sbb saya takde tengkuk”. This made me chuckle cos I think En Baha mana ada takde tengkuk! Zahid tu lain ler, hehehe.

Me: (To En Baha) “Tu ler En Baha..Saya tak nak ckp sebenarnya”. Terus kena cubit by Zahid, ouch! hehe

Disclaimer: Sedih gila the day before tak dpt pergi shoot at 'Bali', Sunway :( Apa nak buat, ada kerja. Ada donation presentation/buka puasa/terawikh Petronas. As the organising committee, mmg tak boleh MIA, esp as ada VVIP (Tun Mahathir & Tun Siti Hasmah). Mmg sedih, Bali Leisure Centre tu dah le dekat benorr ngan rumah!!! :)

Okey, enough meroyan! Moving on...

1st Stop: MML Showroom, Jln Tandang, PJ
Arrived at 5pm and managed to catch one scene - adengan Zahid di bilik tidur, hehe. Unfortunately, I tak amik gambar langsung at this location sbb tiba2 terkena penyakit segan lah pulak! Cis!! Hehehe. Baru je sampai kan, so tak warm up lagi to the surroundings, hehe. Yelah, bilik tu penuh ngan models, talents, director, crew etc yg I tak kenal...

First of all, thanks Suria yg sanggup sacrifice parking space kereta dia sblh Zahid’s orange C3 to pick me up. Hehe.. Nasib baik ler, dpt balik slot bertuah tu :)

Sampai2 je kat carpark nampak SimKad and Ch@15 fans dok melepak kat kereta masing2. Bila masuk showroom, nampak le PA’s Zahid (Hafez, Epol & gang) and Nana KSNM dok lepak at sofa dgn muka penat campur boring, hehe.

A few mins later Zahid muncul, dressed in a shocking pink Von Dutch T-shirt and plain light pink cap. Zahid ckp dia dah bosan pakai orange. Dia pilih pink for a bit of kelainan. Biasalah Zahid, nampak peminat dia, terus dia menyakat.. ‘Haa, Iz bwk camera dia, nanti dia masuk dlm blog” etc.. Mana tak I laaaaagi malu nak amik gambar!!!!! :)

The production crew were setting up for the bedroom scene so we all semua lepak2 at sofa. Bila dah start, baru I gi masuk bilik showroon tgk recording. They simulated the showroom to be Zahid’s bedroom. Ada rak kasut penuh ngan kasut2 Zahid. Semuanya Nike. Colourful habis koleksi kasut Zahid ni. Warna pink, oren, biru, kuning.. semua ada lah! Menyesal tak amik gambar!!! :(

Scene description:
Zahid tgh tidur in a king-sized bed with a duvet covering his whole body & face. Tiba2 phone at the bedside table rang. Muncul le tangan Zahid dari dlm duvet yang dengan mamainya mencapai phone tu, hehe. Pastu dia tolak duvet and bangun. Byk kali repeat ooo, kesian Zahid. Masa ni dia pakai jersey Holland with white drawstring pants. I like those pants on him. Nampak kemas! :)

Next shoot: Zahid bukak almari baju nak pilih baju apa nak pakai.
The almari ada cermin on it and opens by sliding the doors outwards. Zahid slides towards the almari, pushes the almari doors to reveal his clothes. (Semua mmg baju Zahid sendiri of course) He chooses a light pink shirt, jeans and puts them on the bed.

Lepas tu scene dia pakai baju yg dia pilih tu. Started shooting with his baju covering his head, and dia slide it down. Also ada scene dia pakai his seluar, hehe. Dia rendahkan seluar dia and pulled it up. So ada a shot of his buttocks, ladies, hehe. As well as scene dia pakai his metal chain belt…

Masa dia nak tukar baju dari Jersey Holland to baju light pink tu, Zahid ckp dia malu, pastu dia masuk dlm almari cermin tu, tukar baju kat situ! Everybody sighed in disappointment, hehe :) Director ckp.. “Apa nak malu Zahid, semua org ada perut.” hehehe…

Basically that was mainly it lah. Sikit je scene, tapi byk kali shoot. Nasib le Zahid ni jenis very happy go lucky guy. Tgk dia nyer keletah in between shoots pun menghiburkan.

We finished at around 6.15pm, lepas tu terus ke Rio de Futsal. Me & Suria lepak jap, tgk crew pack up and Zahid and PAs dia keluarkan baju2 Zahid dlm almari etc untuk dibawa balik. Penuh boot kereta C3 oren tu! Kasut lah, cap lah, baju2 lagi..

Next stop: Rio de Futsal, Subang
Me and Suria sampai Rio de Futsal just in time for Buka Puasa (where food was provided, of course). Lepas tu, relax sekejap sementara tunggu crew video sampai. While they were setting up their equipment at one of the courts Hafiz, Epol, SimKad and gang dah gi main futsal at the opposite court. A few fans join, eg Nana KSNM, Suria and gang2 Ch@15. Zahid masa tu tgh tukar baju. Kali ni dia pakai serba merah pulak. Man Utd Christiano Ronaldo jersey with red sweat pants. Lepas tukar baju dia join sekejap main futsal. Mmg gelak aje Zahid tu sepanjang2 main futsal :)

Masa Zahid dah kena panggil masuk court futsal, I was watching outside the court with friends sbb belum start pun lagi. Zahid masa boring2 tu, mulalah... Dia meloncat on the court netting mcm spiderman terpacak at netting, hehe. Terkejut we all :) Tak boleh duduk diam betul mamat tu, hehe :)

When shooting was about to start, I bergerak masuk ke dalam court futsal tu. The scene was basically just Zahid and approx. 15 guys and girls dancing. Tapi sbb dance routine, mmg le byk kali repeat.

I didn’t stay till the end cos it was a working day plus I knew I was gonna see him on Wednesday…. and Sunday... Tu dah kira overquota dah tu! Okeylah kan.. no need ler to stay till the end.

Seems like it's gonna be a simple but cool video clip. Can't wait!!!

Suria said PAs Zahid told her that there are 2 versions of the music vid though. One for Malaysia, one for Indonesia. Aiseh... sedihnya.. I hope we'll get to see both versions!!!
